About Us

Dan and Kirsty Jones

Husband and wife Dan and Kirsty Jones met while studying at the National Conservatoire of Wales. After graduating, Kirsty performed for over a year as an orchestral violinist in Pretoria, South Africa for operas, ballets, symphonies and visiting artists. She also performed for many years with the Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera. Dan has performed as a guitarist in several countries including the UK, France, Hungary, Japan and Brunei. He has worked for two UK national conservatoires as a guitar and music theory teacher. In 2010, the couple decided to move to a quiet French village to raise their family in a new, calmer culture. In 2017, they moved to Scotland to enable their daughter to attend a specialist dance school. Whilst in Scotland, Kirsty took up a position with Sistema Scotland and also taught in local schools.  Dan worked for the National Conservatoire of Scotland and continued to develop his portfolio of compositions and arrangements. He now has more than 70 published works, as well as four tutor books and Extracting Goats from Jean-Claude's Kitchen - a humorous memoir of life as a musician in rural France. Since their return to the Dordogne, they have been much in demand as teachers and performers. They enjoy giving concerts and playing at events as a couple and as part of their quartet, the Arisan Ensemble. Dan also performs with the LindyHop Jazz band The Flip Flop Hoppers. Kirsty and Dan believe in offering audiences a broad range of musical styles, and enjoy presenting their original arrangements to their audiences
